Dr. Roxana Hemmati is a specialty contact lens fellowship-trained optometrist practicing out of Austin, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and then went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Hemmati continued her training by completing a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lenses with the Texas Eye Research and Technology Center, where she gained experience fitting specialty contact lenses and participated in a variety of clinical research projects. After completing her fellowship, she stayed on as faculty at the University of Houston, involved in both clinical education and research related to contact lenses. Her primary research project was an NIH-funded study on Wavefront-Guided scleral lenses.
Dr. Hemmati went on to complete the Boston Foundation for Sight PROSE Clinical Fellowship and joined the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine, where she continued her involvement in clinical research and clinical care managing complex corneal cases with many specialty contact lens modalities, including PROSE and EyeprintPRO.
Dr. Hemmati has since relocated to Austin, Texas and continues to practice with a primary focus on specialty contact lenses. She is a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society and the American Academy of Optometry.
